Since 1908 Café de Parel (translation: Café the Pearl) is known as a typical brown café situated in the Jordaan area in Amsterdam. The café has served generation after generation, with her hand painted and crafted wall tiles showing the Jordaan history. Her typically stained windows of the olden days will bring you a warm and welcome feeling. Although recent renovation have freshened her up, she kept her old charm. The look and feel of old brown was kept, but with a whiff of new brown to accommodate the next generation of guests.
